DIY Halloween Picture Frames with Glow-in-the-Dark Spray Paint

When Halloween is just around the corner what better way is there to get into the spooky spirit than with some DIY Halloween decor? Glow-in-the-dark picture frames are a fun and easy craft that can add an eerie glow to your home. Not only are these frames perfect for showcasing your favorite Halloween memories or other spooky images, but they also make a great addition to any haunted house setup. Let’s dive into how you can create these mystical glow-in-the-dark picture frames using simple materials.

Supplies Needed:

      COLORSHOT Glow-in-the-Dark Spray Paint Lightning Bug

      COLORSHOT Satin Spray Paint Black Tie Affair

      Plain picture frames (any size)

      Sandpaper

      Painter's tape

      Newspaper or drop cloth

      Air dry clay

      White paper

      Pencil

      Craft knife

      Black acrylic paint

      Paintbrush

      Glue

STEP 1: SET UP WORK AREA & PREPARE FRAMES FOR PAINTING

STEP 2: APPLY GLOW-IN-THE-DARK SPRAY PAINT TO FRAMES

Once the base coat is dry, it's time for the fun part! Shake your glow-in-the-dark spray paint can thoroughly and apply an even coat over the black paint. Remember you might need to apply multiple layers to achieve the desired glow effect. Be sure to let each layer dry before applying the next. After the paint is fully dry, reassemble the frames. Now is your chance to get creative, so don’t hold back!

STEP 3: CREATE CLAY GHOST FOR CENTER OF FRAME

Here we show you how to make a glowing ghost to add as an enhanced eerie touch to your frame. Draw a ghost shape onto a piece of paper and cut out. Roll out your air dry clay. Place ghost shape on top of air dry clay and use as a guide to cut out clay ghost using craft knife. Let clay dry.

STEP 4: PAINT CLAY GHOST WITH GLOW-IN-THE-DARK SPRAY PAINT

Lay your clay ghost on covered work surface and paint 2-3 coats of COLORSHOT Glow in the Dark Spray Paint Lightning Bug, letting dry between coats. Once ghost is completely dry, add eyes using black acrylic paint. Use glue to adhere to center of frame.

STEP 5: DISPLAY!
