Black or gray acrylic paint (optional)
Fine-grit sand paper (optional)
Plastic skulls in various sizes
All-purpose flour
Baking soda

Pick out which COLORSHOT shades you’d like to use for your colorful skulls! For this easy Halloween DIY, Oh Yay Studio used Cheers, Lucky Penny, Treasure Chest, Cosmo, Summer Pedicure, Emoji, Extra Guacamole, Island Girl, Mermaid, and Scuba.
Optional: Roughen the surface of your plastic skulls with a fine-grit sandpaper, then clean and dry thoroughly to remove any dust and debris. This will help the spray paint adhere to the plastic. Use black or gray acrylic paint to color in the eyes and nose of the plastic skulls.
Create some homemade flocking powder for this Halloween DIY by mixing 1 part baking soda and 1 part all-purpose flour in a small bowl until well combined.
Set up your spray painting station in a well-ventilated area with a protective surface cover to protect from overspray. You’ll also want to wear plastic gloves while working on this colorful Halloween DIY! Shake the can of COLORSHOT for at least a minute and hold the can at least 3 inches away from the plastic skulls while spraying to achieve evenly coated colorful skulls.
Sprinkle the homemade flocking powder onto the paint while it’s still wet. Alternately, you can dip the spray painted skull into the bowl of flocking powder. Gently blow off the excess until an even coat of flocking powder is left on the colorful skulls. For a thicker flock, allow the powder to set as the paint dries before blowing off the excess.
Repeat this process until your plastic skulls are entirely covered in spray paint and flocking powder. Once all your colorful skulls have been flocked, set them aside to dry completely.
Once your colorful skulls have dried completely, they are ready to display. Arrange your faux flocked skulls however you’d like and admire your unique Halloween DIY décor!
