Faux pumpkins, assorted sizes
Faux leaves or moss
Wreath form
Green acrylic paint
Paintbrush
Hot glue gun
Protective surface cover
Pick out which colors you want to use for this pumpkin wreath project— Oh Yay Studio used a variety of vibrant colors for a bold fall wreath, but you can also opt for a classic fall color palette, earthy autumn neutrals, modern metallics, and more!
Place your faux pumpkins a protective surface cover in a well-ventilated area and get ready to spray paint with COLORSHOT! Shake the can of spray paint for at least 1 minute before painting your pumpkins. Hold each pumpkin by its stem and rotate while spraying to get an even coat of paint. Apply 2-3 coats of paint, allowing the paint to dry to the touch between coats.
Once the spray painted pumpkins have dried completely, paint the stems with green acrylic paint. This extra step adds a more depth to your pumpkin wreath!
Heat up your hot glue gun and add foliage to the wreath form, gluing into place as needed. Oh Yay Studio used a black leaf garland for their pumpkin wreath, but you can also use autumn-colored leaves or moss for a more natural fall look.
Lay your spray painted pumpkins on the outer edge of the wreath before gluing to visualize the placement of each pumpkin on your autumn wreath. Begin gluing the pumpkins to the wreath, starting with the larger pumpkins.
Once your larger pumpkins have been glued onto the wreath, fill in the gaps with the smaller pumpkins. Keep similar colors clustered together for a more cohesive autumn wreath.
Once you’ve finished adding all your pumpkins, your DIY autumn wreath is ready to display! This pumpkin wreath adds bold, vibrant color to any front door, and can be displayed as fall décor even when Halloween is over!
