DIY Halloween Décor: Spray Painted Cheesecloth Ghosts and Pumpkins

Prepare your work station with a protective surface cover (such as a plastic sheet or cardboard) and lay out your cheesecloth ghosts and other décor to be painted. This project is a perfect way to upcycle last year’s Halloween décor with vibrant, colorful spray paint! Hold your cheesecloth ghost by the head and begin spray painting the bottom third with your desired color, rotating the ghost as you’re spraying to achieve even coverage. To create a smooth gradient effect, hold the can of spray paint farther away from the cloth.

The sky is the limit with these colorful ghosts— try making them two-toned for an extra pop of color, fade them from colorful to black for extra spooky vibes, or use metallic spray paints for a really lustrous look! Don’t forget to give your cheesecloth ghosts some spooky eyes to see through! Use sharp scissors to cut out eye shapes from black felt. Apply a bit of Aleene’s Felt & Foam Tacky Glue to one side each eye, then press onto the cheesecloth ghosts to secure.
