DIY Painted Wicker Basket

COLORSHOT Spray Painted Wicker Basket

Baskets are made for function, but that doesn't mean they can't look fab while doing their jobs. Unfortunately, most baskets you find out there are pretty simple and seriously lacking in color and style. Luckily, you have COLORSHOT in your arsenal of creativity because painting a basket with spray paint is easy for the expert and the novice DIYer alike, and the results will have you bragging to your friends about your pretty new basket every time they come over. (And if they don't appreciate your upcycled basket, you might want to get some new friends. Just saying.) All you need is a roll of masking tape, that old basket you threw out in the garage, and a few bright COLORSHOT spray paint colors to get your party started.

What you need:

- COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint (we used CosmoFarmer's Daughter and Extra Guacamole)

- Wicker basket

- Masking tape

- Plastic garbage bag

Wicker basket BEFORE.

Make sure your basket is clean and free of any dust. If you're going to be painting with several colors in a striped pattern like we did, mask off the bottom section with masking tape, using enough tape to cover several inches above to protect from overspray.

Spray several light coats of first color as needed to achieve desired coverage, letting dry between coats. Once the first section of color is completely dry, tape it off, as well as the section above, leaving desired amount of space in between tape. Repeat spray paint and taping process for each band of color you decide to create.

That old basket from the garage (or living room - you get the point) looks even better than when you bought it. Now you can store your party stuff in style!
