First, gently wipe any dust and debris that may be on the back of the letters using a soft microfiber cloth. You’ll want to make sure the surface is nice and clean before you spray paint acrylic. Pick out which COLORSHOT spray paint you’d like to use—this project uses Summer Pedicure for a vivid coral color that looks great in the nursery!
Set up your work surface in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling any spray paint fumes. Use a drop cloth or other protective surface cover to catch any overspray. Flip the letters over, shake the can well, and spray paint the back. Hold the spray paint a few inches away from the acrylic and apply in smooth, even strokes. Allow to dry in between coats.
Once the spray-painted acrylic is dry, carefully remove the masking on the front of the letters. Remember that once you remove the masking, the material is prone to fine scratches on the surface and you can see fingerprints if touched. If you do get fingerprints on it, use glass cleaner and a soft cloth to wipe clean.
Use clear mounting tape to hang your spray-painted acrylic sign. Press firmly into the wall to set it in place.
