Before you get started on this cottagecore décor DIY, prepare your gallery wall frame set and décor for spray painting. For this project, Jackie Gill is upcycling a variety of thrifted finds and using metallic COLORSHOT spray paints to create a cohesive color palette! Use sandpaper to lightly sand shiny surfaces as needed, and ensure the surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or debris. Use painter’s tape to cover any areas of the décor that you don’t want painted. Place the items onto a drop cloth or other protective surface cover and be sure to work in a well-ventilated area.
Apply COLORSHOT White Primer to your gallery wall frame set and décor as needed. While not every project requires a primer, it can be particularly beneficial when painting surfaces that are porous, uneven, or have a different color or texture. Allow the primer to dry to the touch, then begin spray painting your cottagecore décor! Shake the spray paint can well and apply in smooth, even strokes. Allow the paint to dry for a few minutes before applying additional coats as desired.
Complete your cottagecore décor DIY by sealing the gallery wall frame set and décor with COLORSHOT Clear Sealer. Our gloss formula creates a shiny protective finish, while our matte formula provides a smooth protective finish. Carefully remove any painter’s tape, then set the painted items aside and allow to cure completely for 24 hours.
Once the paint has completely cured, add some whimsical art or photos to your gallery wall frame set and display! This cottagecore décor is perfect for creating a charming, vintage aesthetic in your home.
